Bending Tensegrity Modules

This series of small scale studies are a start and testing ground for materials and forms that some times lead to larger and more complex projects addressing the ever-evolving demand for light-weight and adaptable built environments. As human needs change rapidly and building lifespans grow shorter, the quest for more lightweight, versatile, and temporary structures has become paramount. This series of tensegrity explore the potential of lightweight textile structures to redefine the boundaries of architectural adaptability. using knitted material as a tensile membrane and PVC rods as structures.

These designs explore the potentials of bending active rods, testing various shapes and forms to for their design potential. These elements add a symphony of tension and compression to the knitted materials, creating a balance between textile and rod. Different yarn types and textures, express the tension and compression.
